Ukrainian duo Davydova/Khmil — bronze medallists at the BPT Challenge Baden 2025

At the prestigious Beach Pro Tour Challenge in Baden (Austria), held from 5 to 9 August 2025, the Ukrainian women’s pair Valentina Davydova and Angelina Khmil claimed a well-deserved third place, showcasing their skill and determination to win. In a fierce bronze-medal match, they defeated the Finnish duo Ahtiainen / Lahti with a score of 2–0.

Round of 16: Davydova / Khmil (Ukraine) — Alchin / Johnson (Australia) 2:0

Quarterfinal: Davydova / Khmil (Ukraine) — D. Kraft / Phillips (USA) 2:0

Semifinal: Davydova / Khmil (Ukraine) — Bock / Lippmann (Germany) 0:2

Bronze Medal Match: Davydova / Khmil (Ukraine) — Ahtiainen / Lahti (Finland) 2:0

Thus, the Ukrainian pair confidently advanced through four rounds, losing only in the semifinal to strong German opponents, but firmly securing their place on the podium.

Congratulations to Valentina Davydova and Angelina Khmil on their well-deserved bronze success! This is their first medal at a tournament of this level.

Their dedication, commitment, and fighting spirit have become a genuine pride of Ukrainian beach volleyball. May this victory be only the beginning of great achievements — with new challenges and triumphs ahead! You are our pride!

In addition to the Davydova/Khmil duo, three other Ukrainian teams took part in the tournament:

1) Hladun / Lazarenko (Ukraine) finished 9th, losing in the Round of 16 to D. Kraft / Phillips (USA) 0:2.

2) Makhno, I. / Makhno, I. (Ukraine) reached the main draw through the qualification stage and ultimately finished 9th, falling in a dramatic battle for a quarterfinal spot to the Finnish duo Ahtiainen / Lahti 1:2.

3) Serdiuk / Romaniuk (Ukraine) placed 25th in the tournament and, unfortunately, did not advance from the group stage after a 1:2 loss to their national teammates Hladun / Lazarenko.

2) The duo Datsiuk / Bublyk (UKR) [29] did not advance from the qualification stage, losing to Just / Huster (GER) [4] 1:2 (21-14, 16-21, 12-15).
